It is a practical, hands on and shoes off kind of day!
8.30-8.45am: Registration and welcome.
8.45-9.00am: Karakia, introductions, and housekeeping.
9.00-9.30am: What’s in the kete? (Kathy Knight)
9.30-10.00am: Purpose of the annual review part 1. (Amy Lever, LTC nurse, Tui Ora)
10.00-10.40am: Principles of healthy eating. (Micah Allen, Dietitian)
10.40-11.00am: Morning tea - provided.
11.00-11.30am: Self-monitoring of BGLs. (Kathy Knight)
11.30-11.45am: Walking the talk – getting people active. (Tracey Zehnder, Health improvement Practitioner - HIP)
11.45-11.50am: Diabetes Integrated Team. (Jessica Knight)
11.50am-12.00pm: Diabetes Self-Management Education. (Matire Ropiha)
12.00-12.45pm: Non-insulin medications. (Lauren Southgate)
12.45-1.30pm: Lunch – BYO or visit the local cafes.
1.30-2.15pm: Nurse led foot assessments. (Kathy Knight)
2.15-3.15pm: Practical session – show me, teach me: Foot checks, hypo challenge, meter teaching.
3.15-3.45pm: Purpose of the annual review part 2. (Kathy Knight)
3.45-4.00pm: Evaluation and closing karakia.
