General practice plays a critical role in the delivery of childhood immunisations. This funding aims to alleviate some of the administrative burden currently being experienced by general practice and is part of a broader approach to support an increase in completion of 6-week immunisation rates.
Please note this funding is available 1 April 2024 to 30 June 2025.
All Pinnacle practices can claim for this service.
The funding is an additional support to enable practices to identify and engage with the whānau of tamariki in order to improve immunisation rates.
Any tamariki enrolled in your practice who are eligible for their 6-week immunisation during the period 1 April 2024 to 30 June 2025.
Patients who are not enrolled with a Pinnacle practice.
All services are provided at no cost to the patient. If the claim cannot be funded by this service, the patient may be liable to the practice for the fees incurred.
Please make your claim via the advanced form supplied to your practice patient management system (PMS).

Claim options 1 or 2
Option 1:
6wk IMMS (standard) (one claim only): $46.00
This can be claimed for any tamariki who has had their 6-week immunisation completed during the period 1 April 2024 to 30 June 2025.
Reasonable timeframe for the 6-week immunisation to be completed within the applicable period or where there is a valid clinical reason for delaying the 6-week immunisation.
Option 2:
6wk IMMS (standard + high priority) (one claim only): $92.00
This is an additional claim for high priority for any tamariki who has had their 6-week immunisation completed during the period 1 April 2024 to 30 June 2025 and who meets one or more of the following criteria:
Please note, if a review of claiming indicates that a claim has been paid for a patient who was not eligible for this service then you will be required to repay the claim.
Practices are required to provide sufficiently detailed consultation notes to determine appropriate use of funding.
No. A patient co-payment cannot be charged.
The service is limited funding by Te Whatu Ora.
