All Pinnacle practices in Waikato region can claim for this service.
Referral for physiotherapy pelvic floor training should also be considered.
Please make your claim via Primary Options, select Ring Pessary and then attach the appropriate invoice(s).
Ring pessary consultation: $75
Consultation for insertion/change of pessary. This invoice is a package of care, it includes an allocation for staff time as well as consumables and cannot be claimed along with any other claims.
Pessaries can be ordered via BPAC - select Enhanced Primary Care: Gynaecology - Ring Pessary Order. The pessaries will be couriered to your practice.
Ring pessary education: $500
One off payment for education attendance at Ring Pessary Clinic Waikato Hospital for GP/Nurse Practitioner or Practice Nurse. This will involve attendance at an outpatient clinic training day. Bookings for this education can be made via Gynaecology Clinic Waikato Hospital 07 839 8899 ext 96733, or email april.irwin@waikatodhb.health.nz.
Practices are required to provide sufficiently detailed consultation notes to determine appropriate use of funding.
It has been recommended that in addition to a good assessment and history, the eligibility criteria are clearly stated in the clinical notes.
There is no charge to the patient for this service.
