DynaMed is the evidence-based online clinical decision support tool that enables quick and confident decision making for all levels of medical professionals. Pinnacle clinicians, nurses and all other primary care health professionals have free, full and unlimited access to the DynaMed online tool and DynaMed mobile app.

DynaMed can be accessed directly via the HealthPathways website, no login is required.

DynaMed content is written by expert physicians and researchers who synthesise the evidence and provide objective analysis. DynaMed topics are always based on clinical evidence and never solely on the experience or opinion of the author, providing the clinical answers that clinicians and healthcare providers need — answers that could change the way they practice medicine. Currently DynaMed contains more than 10,100 clinical topics covering 35 specialty areas (including primary care/family medicine) for use at the point of care. The content coverage (as of 3 May 2022) can be broken down into:

Local content - with DynaMed, users benefit from having access to a wide range of Australia/NZ focused information including: embedded recommendations in the content from Australian and New Zealand Colleges and organisations (e.g. RACGP, NZ Resuscitation Council, National Heart Foundation of New Zealand ANZCOR, ANZSGM, ANZBMS, RANZCOG, and Choosing Wisely Australia).
New Zealand Government Ministry of Health guidelines and publications, including examples above, as well as, New Zealand Government Unite Against COVID-19.
Recommendations specific to Australia and New Zealand for many topics including antibiotics for streptococcal pharyngitis, streptococcal pharyngitis testing strategies, viral hepatitis in pregnancy, decision rules for CT in adults and children with head injury, nonpharmacological interventions for schizophrenia.

Systematic literature surveillance - Pinnacle users are assured of currency and relevancy of information by EBSCO’s unique systematic literature surveillance program that continually monitors medical research as it is published.
Access to full texts - when the clinical information in DynaMed references specific articles, Pinnacle users are able to interrogate the primary source with one click access via open access, a “full text” or “PDF” links.
Drug interaction tool powered by IBM Micromedex - drug interaction tool checks drug-drug and drug-herbal interactions, as well as drug to food, tobacco, ethanol, lab, pregnancy and lactation.
Practice changing alerts and following speciality - Pinnacle’s clinicians can follow a topic or speciality and receive an email alert when new information is added, ensuring they receive the most recent and published information as soon as it is available.
Overview and recommendations - DynaMed includes concise, accurate overviews for diseases and conditions, as well as graded evidence-based recommendations for treatment. Clinicians can view the overviews and recommendations section of DynaMed topics to get a quick summary of the topic and recommended actions based on the most current evidence. Links within the overview and recommendations provide easy access to the supporting details and evidence.
Unlimited access points - offering multiple access options, DynaMed is designed to provide fast and easy access from any location and internet-connected device, including tablets and mobile phones, as well as full offline decision support via mobile app.
Continuing professional development - to earn CPD with every search of DynaMed, Pinnacle users can simply create a personal user account. Once the clinician is signed in and they are able to read DynaMed topics, and the CPD ticker tracks the time spent.

The mobile app is included in your FREE DynaMed subscription and gives full offline access to all content, making it truly available at the point of care and need.
