We should all take a moment to celebrate the role out of HPV self testing, a potentially life saving, less invasive more accessible cervical screening service for all women in Aotearoa.
We also want to take a moment to acknowledge the mahi, the work, that has gone into making sure we in general practice are ready for go live. In an already resource stretched environment we are appreciative of the additional mahi that you have all put in.
Medtech users would have received release notes confirming that the HPV outcome codes have been updated in your PMS. Unfortunately, the updated codes that were released for Medtech practices do not match the nationally recommended outcome codes.
To mitigate clinical risk and to ensure overall data consistency we ask you to manually update your PMS to reflect the nationally recommended HPV outcome codes. The codes and instructions on how to do this are linked below. If you are not sure how to do this and would like some support, please contact our friendly practice support team on the details below.
Once again we want to thank you and your staff for all of the efforts to make HPV self testing a success and for your patience as we work through some of these issues.
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.
Success is not the work of an individual, but the work of many.
