Farewell to Christine Hall

Christine Hall started with Ventures in October 2019 as a general manager supporting the Health Care Home, Patient Access Centre (PAC) and Xcrania teams, stepping up as Ventures chief executive during the first lockdown in April 2020.

Christine's skill and passion for leadership, innovation, better health and social outcomes have been a real asset to the organisation. In the past two years Christine has led a significant transformation of the business by having a laser focus on its core competencies and key strengths.

“We made some big decisions,” says Christine. “We sold Xcrania to ensure our customers were getting the best deal, and consolidated Ventures activity to two core business units: Primary Health Care Ltd, and Health Support Systems Ltd – the digital services side of the business.”

Between the pandemic and health reforms, we’re in a changing environment which naturally encouraged strategy review to prepare for the future. From 1 January 2022 Ventures and Pinnacle Midlands Health Network will be governed by one board, and one group chief executive will lead both subsidiaries. Christine will step down as Ventures chief executive on 24 December.

These changes have been developed in full partnership with Christine, as the result of many strategy discussions with the Ventures board about the organisation’s future direction.

“This is a really important move for Pinnacle, which will allow for more cohesive strategy alignment between its entities,” says Christine. “Ventures has always taken a key role in breaking down the traditional silos and changing the way services are delivered. This is the logical next step for Pinnacle group.”

Over the past two years Ventures has been taken on a journey to become more streamlined and efficient, but Christine’s key focus has been on the people and culture of the organisation. “I’ve built the team, focused on their strengths and brought out their best, while keeping a close eye on mental health and wellbeing during some pretty trying times. This is the part of my role I love the most, and I’m looking forward to taking what I’ve learned to my new position as chief executive of Central Kids.”

“My Ventures experience has given me some amazing learning and I’m proud of everything we’ve achieved,” says Christine. “I’d like to take this opportunity to extend a big thank you to Pinnacle group staff, our board members, the wider Pinnacle Midlands Health Network and our community partners. I’ve enjoyed connecting with you, building new relationships and working together to improve health outcomes across the rohe.”

Acting group chief executive Justin Butcher appreciates the warmth and authentic leadership Christine has offered. “Christine has achieved a lot in a short time, brought people together and simplified Ventures’ business,” says Justin. “She’s well loved and will be missed by many. We wish Christine all the best for this next step in her leadership journey.”

On behalf of the Pinnacle Ventures board, chairman Mark Ingle thanked Christine for her time and valuable inputs. "Christine has been a steady hand during a time of significant change within Ventures. Her leadership and strategic outcomes focus has benefited the business. The Board wishes Christine well for her new challenge into the Early Childhood Education sector."
